This video by Dan Hollings (@dhollings) has some great suggestions. Definitely worth checking out.

However, although it's marketed as "100 Twitter Tips in 15 minutes", it's actually 50 in 8 minutes. You have to click through to his site to get the other 50, but I tuned out when I went to the link and saw an incredibly salesy site and the 50 additional tips weren't immediately evident. Maybe you'll be more inquisitive than I was and dig around.

Twitter is rolling out a new look and an improved user experience. And, unlike other "improvements", this one actually looks useful.
